about me

an introduction | disclaimer: incredibly labelling

I'm Kaavya, a first year Computer Science and Philosophy student at the University of Oxford as an Ellison Scholar.

I'm interested in many things including
  AI & healthcare (most recently),
AI safety (always worried about this, currently finding it hard to do research/break into it),
Quantum computing (before, but am open to getting back into it),

and more! I've published research on quantum game theory as a high schooler, built an app that differentiates between different genera of mosquitoes (this used to be on the app store until I didn't want to pay the $100 fee for developers :( if you'd like to fund it, be my guest!), and done some AI safety and policy research. I'm also an Emergent Ventures grant winner, ESPR '24 alum, Non-trivial summer '23 cohort fellow, UWC East Singapore alum.

Currently, my main goal is to explore other areas of computing, do more research, and generally upskill. I'm always looking for (technically and ideologically) interesting projects to do alongside the degree! I'm vaguely interested in startups but have not worked with them yet, so am also looking to understand more about that world!
